The organisers of this year’s Club Bar and Restaurant (CBR) Nightlife and Hospitality Awards have said that the “2013 Edition will be more interesting, entertaining and just a whole lot better,” while unveiling the nominees for this years’ award at a press conference held at the Avenue Suite, Victoria Island Lagos.
The organisers stated those who have made the nominee list “have all demonstrated a remarkable level of achievement in their category and they all deserve to be on the list.”
Ola Alabi, the brain behind the CBR Awards 2013, slated to hold on December 13, said the event will play host to 1000 guests from Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt at two separate prestigious events to show appreciation to the players in the industry that exceed expectations of service, atmosphere, food and drink quality, presentation, customer service, and overall customer experience.

Alabi said “clubs, bars, and restaurants have always played a major role in Nigeria’s nightlife and hospitality industry. They deserve recognition, reward, and appreciation. Their work has supported countless other industries, including the travel and tourism industry, food and beverage industry, distribution and production companies, and the business community by providing an interesting and exciting cultural destination for both companies and employees.”
Nominees were drawn from several categories such as: best restaurants (in Nigeria) category, best Nigeria restaurant in UK, best cheap eat, best beach bar, best hotel bar, among others. Top nominees for best restaurants in Nigeria were Casa Lydia and Bar Campoione (Lagos), Wakkis and Chez Victor (Abuja), among others.
For Best Desserts Restaurant, Fusion Restaurant, Sky Lounge – Eko Hotel, Uptown Restaurant – The Avenue Suites, Ekaabo – Intercontinental Hotel got nominated, while nominations for Best Desserts Restaurant went to Ice Cream Factory, Chocolat Royal, Oh la la, Coldstone Creamy, Cafe Tranche topped the list while Spice Routes, Indigo Restaurant and Sherlaton Restaurant topped the list for the Best Curry Restaurant category.
