All You Should Know About #NoBraDay

Annually, October 13 has been set aside as the ‘National No Bra Day. It is a day set aside for women to let off their bras at home in order to raise awareness for breast cancer.

However, year in year out, quite a lot of people confuse the essence of this #NoBraDay for something not-too-serious. Breast cancer is one of the commonest cancer among women. About 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer yearly while 12,000 every year in the UK. The good news however is that more than 80% of women with breast cancer are still alive five years after diagnosis.

Quite a number of women who have overcome breast cancer cannot do without their bra; this is because they need the bra to hold up their prosthesis after surgery. However, this National No Bra Day is geared towards helping promote breast cancer awareness, periodic check for women and also to help raise money for research that can wage more war against breast cancer.

Here’s what Nigerians are saying about the National No Bra Day with the hashtag #NoBraDay and #NationalNoBraDay on Twitter:

Free that breast. Keep cancer away. Twitpic, as we are witnesses #NoBraDay

If you ever had a friend, sister, mother, or grandma who died from breast cancer, u will never see #NoBraDay as an avenue to wank to nudes.— #YourFavOnlineDoctor (@DrOlufunmilayo) October 13, 2015
