Gunmen Attack Home Of Ex-Presidential Aide

Unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked the home of Waripamowei Dudafa, a former president Goodluck Jonathan’s senior special assistant on domestic matters, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

The Nation reports that the incident happened at about 5pm on Tuesday, October 13, when the armed gunmen accosted police officers guarding the expansive building located at the Okaka Estate and opened fire on them.

It would be noted that it was the second attack on Dudafa’s home by armed men.

In April 2015, gunmen dressed in mobile police uniform burgled Dudafa’s home of Dudafa, vandalized the safe in one of the rooms and stole an undisclosed sum of money.

One of the police officers was shot twice, while others reportedly fled to different directions for safety.

A security source familiar with the development said:

“The gunmen stormed the vicinity on a Lexus SUV. Though they did not gain entrance into the building, they opened fire on security operatives at the gate. It was a surprise attack. One of the policemen was shot twice, while others fled.”

A few days ago, unknown  gunmen attacked a military base at Kolo Creek in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state. The bandits, who operated in a sports utility vehicle, stormed the army post, shot dead a guard and stole some arms and ammunition.
