Fast rising music artist Seyi Shay has spoken on why she would never be caught nude in a music video.

In an interview with Encomium, Seyi Shay explains why she has never appeared nude in any video and promises never to do so.
She said: “I’ve never been nude in any of my videos, I’ve just been trendy. Being nude is like stark naked, right? I don’t stand for it, I don’t think it’s tasteful. But I do think that everybody has a right to their own creative expression. I’m not going to be nude in my videos, I promise.”

On whether nudity can be curbed in the entertainment industry, Seyi said it can, especially if the trendsetters start purchasing clothes that would cover them up.
Seyi said: “Yes, of course! I actually think that we can correct it in the industry generally if the trend setters and influential people start buying into the idea of people being covered up. We as Nigerians we are very hypocritical, nobody’s talking about what these men and women do behind closed doors, in settings where there are no cameras.
“We just scrutinize and criticize people who are just working and making their money. We can change the whole view on TV and it would still be cool I’m not hypocritical. What happens behind closed doors? I could cover up and all my peers could do the same, but it still won’t change what happens when there are no cameras.”
With several nominations, Seyi Shay further disclosed that nudity in videos is a reflection of what the people that are watching are and what they want.
