Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, a former member of the House of Representatives, is said to have been formally appointed.
She was the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency of Lagos State from 2003 to 2015.
She also served as the Chair of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs during her tenure.
