Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, has claimed that the club’s supporters expect too much.
The Red Devils ended their season with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday, finishing fifth and missing out on the Champions League spots.
Van Gaal was booed by some fans, as he addressed the stadium after the final whistle and he says those who expected him to win the Premier League title, were not being realistic.
“Of course, because I’ve said the expectation is very high – the fans are expecting a lot, but I think these expectations are much too high,” he told Sky Sports.
“We are a team in transition, as I said when I started here at Manchester United, but maybe I need to bring over the message much clearer than I’ve done.”
