Dasukigate: SEE The Latest In Olisa Metuh’s Case


The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh has remained in prison since he first got in on January 19 because of his inability to meet his bail conditions. Metuh’s lawyer have however applied for variation of the bail conditions and Justice Okon Abang
granted it today. We have  put together in this piece the latest you should know about Metuh’s case…

– The PDP spokesperson would no longer be required to produce two sureties who must have property strictly in the Maitama area of Abuja.

– Aside the above, the bail sum of N400m and other attached conditions remain the same.

– Metuh’s lawyer, Mr. Emeka Etiaba (SAN) in the application sought the court to remove the bail condition directing the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Sylvanus Tahir, to within 24 hours of being notified, verify the addresses of the proposed sureties and the certificates of occupancy of the property to be presented by them but the court rejected it.

– Although bail has been granted, today, Wednesday 27 January made the eighth day since Metuh has remained in prison detention due to his inability to fulfill the terms.

Metuh is being prosecuted along with his company before Justice Abang for money‎ laundering and fraudulent receipt of N400m from the Office of the National Security Adviser in November 2014.
